Working Principle
Impact Pulverizer is a type of swinging hammer type pulverizer best suited for grinding medium to hard material (Upto 5 on Mohs Scale). Inside the grinding chamber the material is grinded against serrated liners mounted along the periphery. A blower fan mounted on the shaft draws the material from the grinding chamber through the whizzer cone and delivers it into the cyclone collector. The material gets separated from the air stream due to cyclone formation and is collected at the outlet of the cyclone collector. The fineness of the output can be controlled by moving the whizzer blades thereby adjusting the gap between the whizzer cone and the blades. A smaller gap increases the retention time of the material in the chamber resulting in finer output.
Application
Impact Pulverizers are best for grinding hard and rocky materials like minerals and ores like calcite, silicomanganese ores, kaolin, iron oxide, limestone, aluminum sulphate etc. A fineness of D90 of 30 microns is attainable in Impact Pulverizers for most materials. Impact pulverizers can also be used to grind fibrous materials like roots, tree bark, turmeric, shatavari, chana etc. Production capacity of 600 kg/hr can be attained in this type grinding mill.
